Interns
Come to the Lake Tahoe Basin to complete an exciting internship. Any student affiliated with or interested in Parks and Recreation is welcome to submit an application. We will work with each student individually to develop a successful and rewarding internship experience. For more information call (530) 583-3440, ext. 11.

Instructors at Rideout - What Is a Contract Instructor?

  • Instructors with the Tahoe City PUD Parks and Recreation Department are independent contractors.
  • The instructor is under contract and is paid a percentage of the gross revenue.
  • The instructor sets the class tone and develops the curriculum.
  • The PUD provides the facility and promotion of the program.

Instructor Qualifications

The Tahoe City PUD Parks and Recreation Department is committed to offering classes that promote community health and well-being through fun, progressive, and memorable parks and recreation experiences for all ages, abilities and interests. 

We are always looking for motivated, energetic and professional contract instructors to teach classes that enhance the mission and goals of the Tahoe City PUD Parks and Recreation Department. An instructor must possess strong teaching skills, be positive, organized, have good communication skills, and demonstrate a desire to develop and promote their program. 
Interested individuals wishing to instruct a class may either complete the online class proposal and application below or contact one of our Recreation professionals at (530) 583-3440, x11 to make an appointment.

Parks Maintenance Summer Positions

2010 positions have been filled.  Please check back Spring 2011

We are looking for skilled, semi-skilled and rudimentary grounds, buildings, parks and trails maintenance personnel. A basic knowledge and experience in landscaping, irrigation, construction and park operations are desirable. Parks staff must have the ability to carry out work schedules, work projects and record keeping. Excellent public relations and communication skills are desired. Job applicants must have the equivalent of a 12th grade education, posses a valid drivers license and current CPR and First Aid certificate, or the ability to obtain these prior to employment.

Sports Officials & Score Keepers

The Tahoe City Parks & Recreation Department is seeking umpires and referees for the upcoming adult sports programs. Training and supervision is provided.

Summer Camp Counselor

2010 positions have been filled.  Please check back Spring 2011

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, individuals who love to work with children. If you have what it takes to make a difference in the lives of children and in the community, we want you for the summer. The job runs June, July and August, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 6:00pm. Average pay is $9 per hour. Come into the Recreation office at Rideout Community Center to complete the application process.

Volunteer Coaches

Do you have a love for children and a strong desire to be a positive role model? Men and women are encouraged to invest their time as volunteer coaches in volleyball, basketball, and softball. You provide the time and enthusiasm, we provide the training. Fingerprinting is required.

Pomin Parking Lot Closure

From Sept. 7 through Oct. 15 Placer County Erosion Control Project will be removing the road bridge to Pomin parking lot. The parking lot will not be available for use during this time. Parking will be available at the Lake Forest Campground located next to Pomin Park.

The bike trails are open. Please be aware of proper trail etiquette.
